California Physical Fitness Report shows that 39.8 percent of fifth graders are not reaching the minimal requirements for aerobic capacity. This means that 188,506 out of 473,633 fifth graders are not in the healthy fitness zone.

Whittier and Norwalk-La Mirada districts are showing that 41.6 percent of fifth graders are not reaching the minimal requirements for aerobic capacity. This means that 1,861 out of 4,475 fifth graders are not in the healthy fitness zone. These 5 districts combined are showing a higher percent of fifth graders that are not in the healthy fitness zone in comparison to California’s average. Several schools in these districts have even higher numbers of students not reaching the minimal requirements for aerobic capacity.
