President/Founder
Michael Y. Seril is a nationally recognized and influential figure in the world of fitness and exercise. He holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Kinesiology – Exercise Science and Exercise Physiology from California State University – Northridge (CSUN). He is a Certified Personal Trainer by two of the most respected and prestigious fitness organizations in the world, the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) and the American Council on Exercise (ACE).
Michael is the owner of Michael Seril Fitness, Inc. and the Founder of the Excellence Through Exercise Foundation. He is an Advisory Board member for Get America Fit Foundation, Maximum Fitness magazine and Rio Hondo Community College Fitness Certificate Program.
Michael has played an important role in promoting health and fitness which has captivated many individuals. His impact in the fitness industry has received him utmost respect from other personal trainers. As a result, he has received prominent awards that exemplify him as a true leader. Michael was acclaimed with the 2006 Personal Trainer of the Year by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). In, 2007, Michael received the Community Leadership Award from the President’s Council on Physical Fitness & Sports. Recently, he was voted Top 3 “Best Personal Trainer” in America by ExerciseTV in 2008. In addition, Michael was featured on ABC 7 Eyewitness News for his community contribution and leadership.
With Michael’s perseverance for a healthier lifestyle and commitment to the city of Whittier, he gives back to the community by being a fitness writer, lecturer, and presenter for Bright Health Physicians and Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital. He lectures in topics such as “Fitness for Older Adults”, “Excellence Through Exercise” and “Importance of Weight Training for Adults.
As a fitness enthusiast, Michael realized the growing need of obesity prevention in society and it starts with educating children. With that in mind, he established the Excellence Through Exercise Foundation. His vision and mission is for everyone to adopt a healthier lifestyle and a more functional and productive tomorrow.
Secretary/Treasurer
Kimberly graduated from Whittier College with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology. She is currently attending graduate school at California State University, Fullerton to pursue a Masters degree in Kinesiology. Kimberly is currently teaching a course at Whittier College. She plays a large role in the Excellence Through Exercise Foundation as a Board member, Treasurer and Secretary. Her goal in working with the foundation is to help provide a healthier and happier future for children and their families. She plans to accomplish this goal by helping to implement the foundation’s programs and by promoting the foundation’s mission throughout the community and the rest of the country.
Adina Cozma NASM-CPT joined the ranks of the Michael Seril Fitness Team as our first female personal trainer. She is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), which is a nationally accredited association and one of the top five personal trainer certificates in the country. Adina is currently attending Fullerton College and will be transferring to California State University Fullerton next year to pursue her Bachelors degree in Kinesiology. Her passion, energy and willingness to help each of her clients makes Adina an unbelievable fitness professional. Adina works closely with Michael in various community outreach projects including her involvement with the Excellence through Exercise Foundation and Michael’s seminars throughout the community.
Sean is certified by the American Council on Exercise, and is currently finishing the Fitness Specialist Certification program at Rio Hondo Community College. In a year and a half, sean will be transferring from Rio Hondo to Cal State University, Fullerton to pursue his Bachelors degree in Kinesiology. He will be assisting with the Excellence Through Exercise Foundation by doing various projects and outreach programs. Sean’s passion, willingness, and outgoing personality makes him a viable member of the MSF and ETE team and a fantastic fitness professional.
